In an effort to bring some spirit and warmth to Canada's serving men and women, the Orangeville Chorus filled several boxes with their favourite goodies and shipped them off to Kabul, Afghanistan. The appreciative recipients are members of the 3rd Battalion Princess Patricias Canadian Light Infantry, who are based out of Edmonton, and include Andrew O'Hearn, son of chorus member Moira O'Hearn. "You have no idea how much this means to the morale of our troops overseas, especially in a place like Afghanistan," said O'Hearn in a thank you message to her fellow chorus members.
The chorus also recorded O Canada, Feliz Navidad and You Raise Me Up on a CD and included it in the package.
Chorus president Judy Paterson (left) and Shirley Sawchuk (right), a past president, are seen here in the Hillsburgh post office where the staff helped them prepare all the paperwork for the long journey overseas.
